O last.fm, programa bastante famoso e utilizado por muita gente nos dias de hoje, tem a funcionalidade de construir um perfil detalhado dos gostos musicais de cada utilizador, fazendo o registo de todas as musicas ouvidas no computador das pessoas, recolhendo para isso toda a informação necessária.
Uma das muitas funcionalidades do programa, é a possibilidade de atribuir géneros de musica(tags) aos artistas, contribuindo assim, para uma melhor definição do seu estilo musical. Como não há a bela sem o senão, alguns utilizadores não a usam da melhor maneira...eis um curioso exemplo:
